It doesn't exactly speak well about society. I'm not even opposed to dating a single parent as a rule and think they are entitled to pursue happiness as much as the next person but there's a story behind every profile and it's a hard thing to see. This warms the heart. I can sympathize with the latter sentiment however feeling like an old person is a mindset issue. I mean, sure there will be times when young people treat you like you're old and you'll have those moments where you realize things are not the same as they used to be, but only you get to decide what sort of mentality you show the world.
I tend to show a youthful mentality, so I like to date a bit younger.
It helps that I look young as well but it's really about how I choose to act. Be positive and people will like to be around you. This can't be emphasized enough. There's always a random element to this, but after a while it gets to feeling difficult. I was going to share some stories about women in their 30s I know but I don't think a few accounts make a definitive argument. I will however note that there are many discrepancies between what some people say they want and what they are willing to commit to, and the aftermath of many bad relationships may really be a tell that if it happens to someone enough then it may actually be something to do with them and not other people.
So to all of you out there who are single, take a moment to audit your life and see if there are things you can do in this moment to improve, and take some solace in the fact that it is better to be single than to be in a relationship with a liar, cheat, or addict. Be grateful for the good you do have and of course set aside more time to find someone good for you because that's important to you!
